Monthly Horoscope

GREETINGS

We all need to be prepared for the change in energy which September 2015 brings. It is a major turning point for each of us. Not only do we experience the annual Autumnal Equinox on 9/23, but we will have a solar eclipse on 9/13, a lunar eclipse on 9/27, Mercury retrograde for 22 days beginning 9/17, Venus turning direct on 9/6 after 6 weeks retrograde, Saturn finally leaving Scorpio on 9/17 after nearly 3 years of testing, and Pluto intensifying its energy as it moves forward on 9/25, two days before the Lunar Eclipse, the 2nd SuperMoon in a row, and the closest SuperMoon of the year. Talk about fireworks and an explosion of opportunity and challenge: we are in for an adventure.

SEPTEMBER ASTROLOGICAL OUTLOOK

We are at the end of a very unique astrological pattern referred to as the Shemitah which occurs when 4 Blood Moons in succession coincide with the Jewish Holidays. The four Blood Moons are referred to as a Tetrad and this year the final Blood Moon of 9/27 occurs in a year of Shemitah in the Hebrew calendar. This has not occurred for 2,000 years. Blood Moons occur during a Lunar Eclipse when the Moon passes through the Earth's shadow. The only light reaching the Moon is sunlight as it passes through Earth's atmosphere at a low level. This is a similar occurrence as we see when we view a red sunset. When Lunar Eclipses occur 4 times in a row, this is referred to as a Tetrad, a rare event indeed. From April 15/2014 to September 27/2015 (an 18 month period, more or less) we have experienced 4 Lunar Eclipses in a row. Since it is believed eclipses in general and Full Moons in particular change the molecular structure of light and energy, they usually bring events and awareness that cause us to reboot and redirect ourselves in our lives. When an eclipse occurs close to a solstice or equinox they are further strengthening the probability of change. The Solar Eclipse of 3/20/15 occurred at the Vernal Equinox. I don't know about you, but my life has changed totally since then. I am hopeful things will be right side up following the final Lunar Eclipse of 9/27.

Many interesting historical changes have occurred in the past when the Tetrads occur on Jewish holidays: In 1493-4 the Jews were expelled from Spain and Columbus returned from his voyages to the New World. In the recent past in 1949-50 the nation of Israel was formed for the first time in 2000 years. In 1967-8 the 6-day war occurred and Israel captured Jerusalem and for the first time Jews prayed at the wall of their ancestors. In 2014-15 for the 9th time in 2000 years we have a Tetrad of Blood Moons fall on Jewish Feast Days. The last Blood Moon of this Tetrad will be a larger than usual Super Moon setting over Jerusalem.

The Shemitah years coincide with rising up and falling down of empires. In the 20th century we had a Shemitah year in 1917 as American entered WW1 and became a major power, Russia became the Soviet Union with the fall of the Czar, Germany, the Austro-Hungarian and Ottoman Empires fell. In 1938 all of Europe began to experience the rise of Fascism. In 1945 Germany was defeated, a bomb was dropped by the US on Japan as the US became a super power and the richest country in the world, as well as the largest lender nation. In 1973 the World Trade Center was completed symbolizing the financial might of the US, the war is Viet Nam was lost and Nixon took the US off the gold standard In 2001 the World Trade Center was destroyed, Wall Street had a great collapse on the last day of the Jewish Shemitah year. Finally, in 2008 Wall Street suffered the largest decline and became the world's largest debtor nation. Stand by, something big will happen this year, most likely in September, and it may be unprecedented.

What does this mean to us on a personal level? With the eclipses occurring in Aries/Libra, the challenge is to balance our needs with the needs of others and to find balance of the masculine and feminine characteristics in each of us.

Now you are prepared when people begin warning of the end of the world or some other dire prediction. What we know for sure is a time is ending and another is beginning, both collectively and personally, and none of us have experienced this energetic pattern before.

As August comes to an end we are experiencing the beginning of the change energy with a Pisces Full Moon on 8/29, illuminating whether we are on the right track or need to change course. The practical side of us symbolized by the Sun and Jupiter in Virgo strives for practical information and simplicity. Earthy Virgo functions through analysis and discernment. Watery Pisces operates through intuition and empathy and is definitely creatively non-logical. There is a push/pull effect between these two strategies at the Full Moon. On 8/26 3 days before the Full Moon the Sun and Jupiter join in Virgo and on 8/31 the Sun and Neptune form an opposition which amplifies the struggle between these two very different views of life. On 8/31 Venus makes its 2nd of 3 conjunctions with Mars in Leo. This is a powerhouse of creative, financial and sexual energy and the only Leo opportunity for this big boom. The first was in Aries on 2/21 of this year and the final fireball will come on 11/6 in Virgo. This is a great time not to be alone and to brainstorm with others who have knowledge and helpfulness as their chief features. This Full Moon urges us to listen to the heart first as we can live brain dead, but not without our heartbeat. The theme of the Summer season has to identify with and follow the desires of your heart. This is one more boost to the theme of that message.

The last day of August the Sun/Neptune invite us to be more human and allow us to be who we are and give up force for the empowerment of out true natures. The Venus/Mars conjunction in Leo will help us to channel our energies into activities that bring personal fulfillment. As we begin September we will have received a powerful invitation to change. The first 7 days of September bring a productive and peaceful so make plans accordingly. With the Sun and Jupiter in earthy Virgo receiving support from Pluto in Capricorn, this week will provide a strong feeling of empowerment for all out projects. As Venus moves forward on 9/6 after a 6 week review of our values, our relationships, our use of money and our definition of beauty, we long for expression of our new consciousness and life should give us many clues and cues for the next phase of our lives.

The second week of September brings a return to work after the Labor Day holiday and Mars in Leo and Uranus in Aries give us a bold start to whatever we have recommitted to becoming and doing. Try not to push your own agenda and build consensus with others on 9/9 as Mercury and Pluto have a tug of war from Libra and Capricorn, respectively. The Solar Eclipse of 9/12 brings us a New Moon in Virgo, a new cycle which will last 6 months. The word "eclipse" comes from the Greek verb which means "to cease existing". For those of us who have had a challenging past 6 months, this is good news indeed. During an eclipse, the flow of energy is interrupted, allowing a re-boot of consciousness. A solar eclipse in Virgo offers the opportunity to evolve from criticism to discernment, from distraction to focus, a pattern of peaceful surrender and confidence in outcomes. The symbol for this New Moon in Virgo urges us to concentrate on what is most important to us, take a leap of faith and aim high.

On 9/16 the energy moves to another level as Jupiter in Virgo opposes Neptune in Pisces testing us on fact vs fantasy and opening up the energy of transformation as we look at what is possible. On 9/17 Mercury goes retrograde in Libra for 22 days. This is the final Mercury retrograde period of 2015 and we all are asked to review what we think is fair, to spend time in reviewing, rather than starting new projects. It is best to avoid long-term commitments or decisions at this time and to be reserved and more observational in your dealings with others. Mercury moves forward again on 10/9. Your vision will be clearer at that time. Another astrological headline for 9/17 is Saturn finally leaving Scorpio and returning to Sagittarius. Hopefully this busy planet returning to a creative fire sign will add a steam roller to our goals and dreams. On 9/20 the planets offer a wonderful pattern as the Moon in Sagittarius makes a wonderful triangle with Venus in Leo and Uranus in Aries. We will all feel good and want to be with like-minded people on this day. Enjoy this last taste of summertime.

On 9/23 the Sun enters Libra and Fall begins ushering in a time when we are drawn to be more cooperative, appreciate the contributions of others and create a stronger sense of community. On 9/24 Pluto makes its move forward which can intensity our reactions and interactions with others as Mercury struggles with Pluto from its vantage point in peaceful, pleasant Libra. It is better for us to practice cooperation rather than competition this day. Mars enters Virgo as well, giving us extra energy to find practical solutions to our problems, and cautions not to overthink our fears. On 9/25 Mars in Virgo squares Saturn in Sagittarius pitting the forces of detail against the pattern of excess and absence of caution. This is not a great time to resolve differences with others, so avoid this possibility at all costs.

The final Lunar Eclipse of the Tetrad of 2014/2015 occurs on 9/27-28 as the Moon occupies Aries and the Sun moves through Libra. This Super Moon brings the opportunity for heightened awareness as well as shadow material coming from the unconscious. This eclipse occurs close to the equinox, when there is a reduction in the Earth's magnetic field, facilitating the downloading of new codes into the collective unconscious. Sometimes this is referred to as a "paradigm shift. The focus of this lunar eclipse is on relationship. As we know all relationships begin with our relationship to our self, allowing our selfknowledge, self-actualization and self-care to join with others in a balance of power leading to greater knowledge and wholeness. This true partnership of mutual empowerment creates a synergy of creating more with others than we can create as individuals. The theme of this Full Moon eclipse is balance and wholeness.

The last day of September has the Sun joining Mercury in Libra, urging us to find a win-win solution to our conflicts with others and to end the habit of power struggling.

As you can see this month is a roller coaster ride of change, challenge and possibility. I for one, am ready for things to change and if you need someone to process this powerful time with, I would be honored to be on your team. Let me know how I can facilitate your growth and healing.
